    About the role#

    The New York Post is looking for a Social Media Intern to join the Audience Development team for the Winter 2026 term. This is a paid, on-site role based in New York City. The internship runs from February 2, 2026, through April 10, 2026, and requires a part-time commitment of 24 hours per week. We are looking for current juniors, seniors, or recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year.

    What you'll do#

    • Create and manage content for social media accounts including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.
    • Interact with the audience by responding to comments and starting conversations.
    • Find and curate viral content to keep feeds updated.
    • Work with the editorial team to feature breaking news and exclusive stories.
    • Track social media performance to help refine strategies and improve engagement.

    What you'll need#

    • Experience or interest in a newsroom environment.
    • Strong communication skills and a creative approach to content.
    • Current knowledge of social media trends, pop culture, and news cycles.
    • Ability to work well within a team and collaborate across departments.
    • Majors in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or Business Administration are preferred.
