About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will assist with pharmacy operations, administrative tasks, and clinical support functions.
What you'll do#
- Prepare medications for both inpatient orders and outpatient prescriptions, including typing labels.
- Help provide drug information to patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff members.
- Support pharmacists in the preparation and labeling of compounded sterile applications.
- Conduct monthly medication room inspections and reviews.
- Manage inventory by checking stock levels, removing recalled or outdated drugs, and returning unused medications to the pharmacy.
- Maintain records for manufactured items and verify drug shipment invoices.
- Replenish floor and pharmacy stock as needed.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A current permit to practice as a Pharmacy Intern in New York State.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant experience.
- Specialized certifications as required.
