    About the role#

    NVIDIA is looking for a PhD intern to join the cuOpt team for the Fall 2026 term. You will work on GPU-accelerated decision intelligence systems and help build the next generation of optimization platforms.

    What you'll do#

    • Prototype and develop parallel algorithms for decision optimization problems.
    • Perform tuning, optimization, and benchmarking of large-scale parallel numerical software.
    • Collaborate with team members to understand software use cases and requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science or a related field.
    • Proficiency in parallel C++ programming and familiarity with CUDA.
    • Strong understanding of algorithms and numerical methods in operations research and optimization.
    • Experience with mathematical programming, such as linear, quadratic, or mixed-integer models.
    • Knowledge of heuristics like genetic algorithms and large neighborhood search.
    • Ability to work independently and lead your own development efforts.

    • This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Santa Clara, California.
    • The term for this position is Fall 2026.
