About the role#
The Economic Development Intern supports the Innovation & Economic Development team at the Orlando Economic Partnership. You will assist with business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts. This role provides hands-on experience in regional economic development by working with local businesses, community partners, and stakeholders. You will report to the Senior Vice President of Innovation & Economic Development.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on companies, industries, and markets to support economic development prospects.
- Prepare for prospect meetings, company visits, site tours, and events.
- Create company profiles, executive bios, and briefing documents.
- Track economic development projects and prospects within the CRM system.
- Update and maintain accurate records for companies, prospects, and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at a university or college.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Preferred fields of study include Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Public Health, Urban Planning, Real Estate, or Marketing.

- This is an on-site position based in Orlando, Florida.
- The internship is paid.
- This is a part-time role with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
- The term is rolling.
