About the role#
This 10-week summer internship provides an introduction to the Fixed Income Services business at Piper Sandler. You will work alongside professionals across various desks, including Municipal Underwriting and Trading, Credit Trading, Fixed Income Strategy, and Mortgage-Backed Securities. The program includes desk teach-ins, speaker series with senior management, and a final capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Build an understanding of client verticals and fixed income products.
- Support the financial strategies team on assigned projects.
- Assist the trading and underwriting teams with new issue and secondary market processes.
- Help the sales team learn how to sell products to the buyside.
- Work with support groups and back-office systems.
- Contribute to the publication of weekly market commentary.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising junior or rising senior.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- An interest in financial markets.
- Ability to prepare for and complete the SIE exam.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Tableau.
- A detail-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to participate in a final capstone project.

- Pay: $21 to $30 per hour.
