About the role#
This internship focuses on advancing neutral atom quantum computing technologies. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists to design, build, and characterize these systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and construction of neutral atom quantum computers under the guidance of your mentor.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to verify and validate system modules.
- Investigate noise and decoherence sources to help develop mitigation strategies.
- Support experimental setups, including work with lasers, optical components, and atom trapping systems.
- Use the Python scientific stack to analyze experimental data and provide feedback for system improvements.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in physics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- A strong background in physics and experience with optics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Python programming skills, specifically with libraries like PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas, are a plus but not required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The role follows a rolling term.
