About the role#
As a Field Engineering Intern at R.T. Moore, you will gain hands-on experience in a construction environment. You will work alongside Field Engineers, Project Managers, and Field Superintendents to support daily project operations. This role involves a mix of office and field tasks, providing a view of how engineering principles apply to real-world mechanical and industrial projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project layout using Trimble tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings to provide field support.
- Help with material take-offs and estimating tasks.
- Coordinate design changes and assist with general project coordination.
- Support the team in meeting project safety requirements and initiatives.
- Work on a specific project assignment based on business needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Engineering or Construction Management program.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to execute tasks under time constraints.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat and boots.
Location & details#
- Location: Tampa, Florida.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time.
- Modality: This is an on-site, field-based internship.
- Working conditions: You will work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions and construction site environments, including loud noises and heights. The role requires physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting at least 50 pounds, and navigating confined spaces.
