About the role#
This is a full-time Software Engineer Co-op position with Raytheon Technologies. You will join the Common Simulation Environment team to contribute to avionics programs. This role is based on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is available for Summer or Fall 2027 terms. You must be a U.S. Person to qualify for this position.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test applications that simulate avionics sensor behavior.
- Support the development and testing of Collins Avionics products.
- Help the team debug laboratory issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers to shape the future of the avionics simulation platform.
- Network with teammates, management, and customers.
- Assist Program Leads by providing budget and schedule data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the session.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Practical experience with C/C++ and Python scripting.
- Familiarity with C# programming, Graphical User Interface (GUI) design, MS Visual Studio, and MS SQL Server is preferred.
