About the role#
S&B is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern to work on routine assignments under the supervision of senior engineers. You will apply standard design techniques and procedures while contributing to project development within a multi-discipline team. This position requires daily, face-to-face interaction with team members.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic design sketches and perform engineering calculations.
- Visit existing plants to collect operating data and equipment information.
- Assist in gathering data for equipment specifications, inquiries, and purchase requisitions.
- Evaluate vendor bids and drawings for compliance with specifications.
- Help prepare equipment lists, piping line lists, and specialty item lists.
- Contribute to the development of design guides, guide specifications, and contract proposals.
- Participate in plant start-up activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
- Working knowledge of computer software and automated engineering design equipment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
