About the role#
S&B is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern to perform routine engineering assignments under close supervision. You will work with senior engineers and specialists to apply standard design techniques and procedures. This role requires daily face-to-face interaction and collaboration within a multi-discipline team.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic design sketches and perform calculations for equipment and system designs.
- Gather operating data and equipment information during field trips to existing plants.
- Assist in preparing equipment specifications, inquiry documents, and purchase requisitions.
- Evaluate vendor bids and drawings to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Help maintain project documentation, including equipment lists, piping line lists, and specialty item lists.
- Contribute to the development of design guides, specifications, and contract proposals.
- Participate in plant start-up activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
- Proficiency with standard computer software and automated engineering design equipment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
