    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising strategy. You will support food security initiatives by conducting research, identifying new funding sources, and managing grant pipelines. The role is designed to align with the summer grant cycle, which is a high-volume period for RFP releases and foundation deadlines. You will help the team stay ahead of these opportunities through structured research and tracking.

    What you'll do#

    • Research funding opportunities focused on food security, nutrition access, and community-based food programs.
    • Track foundation, corporate, and government funding, including deadlines, eligibility, and priorities.
    • Maintain and update fundraising trackers, calendars, and prospect lists.
    • Assist the team with early-stage grant preparation, such as summarizing RFPs and drafting opportunity briefs.
    • Monitor seasonal funding trends to help anticipate upcoming opportunities.
    • Gather data and conduct impact research to support food security fundraising.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a master's (preferred) or undergraduate program in Public Health, Social Work, Food Justice, or a related field.
    • A strong interest in nonprofit fundraising, program development, or food security.
    • Excellent research, organization, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Strong written communication and attention to detail.

    • Location: New York, New York (Hybrid).
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Duration: 20 weeks.
    • Commitment: Part-time, 8 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
