About the role#
Goddard Riverside is hiring an intern for the Summer Youth Gun Violence Prevention Initiative. This role supports efforts to reduce gun violence in New York City by engaging young people aged 14 to 24 in community programs. You will help create positive alternatives for youth at high risk of being affected by gun violence.
What you'll do#
- Organize, promote, and support youth-led community projects.
- Assist with job readiness internships for youth participants.
- Facilitate activities focused on leadership development, placemaking, and public showcases.
- Help youth explore creative self-expression through art or technology platforms.
- Engage young people in meaningful summer programming.
What you'll need#
- An interest in community-based youth programming.
- A commitment to supporting at-risk youth.
- The ability to engage young people aged 14 to 24.
- Students majoring in Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Public Health, or Communications are encouraged to apply.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in New York, New York.
- The internship is paid at an hourly rate of $20.00.
- This is a full-time role with rolling admissions.
