About the role#
Stanford Sierra Youth & Families is looking for a Clinical Student Intern to join our team in Woodland. This is an unpaid, part-time position that offers hands-on experience in mental health services for at-risk children, youth, and families. You will work directly with clients in various settings, including homes, schools, and our offices.
What you'll do#
- Provide mental health services that are strength-based and culturally competent.
- Conduct intake meetings and develop treatment plans for assigned families.
- Deliver Intensive Home Based Services and individual rehabilitation.
- Offer collateral support to caregivers and significant support persons.
- Manage Intensive Care Coordination and case management tasks.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, including those involving schools, courts, and psychiatric providers.
- Facilitate rehabilitative or skill-building groups.
- Prepare and update individualized safety plans.
- Document all services, including Medi-Cal eligible activities, within required timelines.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and attend regular clinical supervision.
- Arrange safe transportation for youth and families when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s level degree program for Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Counseling.
- Enrollment in a corresponding practicum or internship course.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain positive relationships with consumers.
- Spanish speaking skills are preferred.
