About the role#
This is a backend engineering internship focused on the systems that power real product workflows. You will work on a small team where you own services rather than individual tickets. Your code will reach production quickly. We are looking for someone who enjoys building reliable systems and fixing data issues at the source.
What you'll do#
- Build and extend backend services, APIs, and their underlying data models.
- Design and maintain database schemas that support search, scoring, and reporting.
- Create background jobs and integrations that are reliable enough to run unattended.
- Investigate data quality issues and fix them at the source.
- Write code that is readable and extensible, and review work from other engineers.
What you'll need#
- Strong programming fundamentals in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or a similar language.
- Comfort learning backend systems, APIs, databases, and data modeling.
- Interest in building reliable systems that support real product workflows.
- Experience shipping meaningful work, such as side projects, class projects, open-source contributions, or a prior internship.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work independently in a remote environment.
Location & details#
- This role is fully remote within the United States.
- The internship is paid at $35 to $50 per hour.
- This is a full-time position with a rolling term.
