About the role#
The Arthur Companies is hiring an Accounting Intern to join our finance team in Arthur, North Dakota. This internship offers hands-on experience in agricultural accounting, grain operations, and financial reporting. You will assist with daily financial functions while gaining insight into the operations of a multi-location agricultural business.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily accounting transactions and data entry.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Assist with grain settlement documentation and verify data.
- Track and reconcile inventory.
- Prepare reports regarding margins and operational performance.
- Participate in month-end close activities.
- Compile financial data for internal reporting.
- Create spreadsheets and perform analysis in Excel.
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Maintain accounting files and documentation.
- Support process documentation and internal control procedures.
- Collaborate with operations and location staff.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Interest in agriculture or agribusiness is preferred.
- Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is helpful but not required.
