About the role#
As a Field Operations Manager for our Student Transit team, you will manage the daily operations of transit services. This is a hands-on, onsite position where you will ensure reliable transportation for students and schools. You will work directly in the field to solve problems and improve service quality.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily onsite operations to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
- Make real-time decisions regarding driver supply, compliance, and unexpected service issues.
- Support and guide drivers while building strong working relationships.
- Collect feedback from students and school districts to implement operational improvements.
- Use data to diagnose performance issues and increase overall efficiency.
- Act as the primary link between school partners, drivers, and our internal teams.
What you'll need#
- Experience in operations, logistics, customer service, or people management.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to balance immediate tactical needs with long-term solutions.
- Strong communication skills to build trust with drivers and school partners.
- A background in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or Public Health is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, San Jose, or Santa Rosa, California.
- You will be expected to be onsite 4 to 5 days per week.
- Compensation is $65,000 to $70,000 per year, plus benefits including medical plans and 401K matching.
