About the role#
The Weld County District Attorney office offers part-time internships for law students. You will perform entry-level legal work under the Student Practice Act. This role includes responsibilities for the criminal prosecution of misdemeanors and traffic offenses in County Court.
What you'll do#
- Attend arraignments, pre-trial conferences, and sentencing conferences in your assigned areas.
- Prepare and present jury trials and trials to the Court.
- Assist the County Court Deputy during trials as needed.
- Provide assistance to citizens over the phone or in the office.
- Perform all duties within the authorized practice of the Student Practice Act.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2L, 3L, or completion of a Juris Doctorate.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and process information efficiently.
- Professionalism and composure when interacting with others in the legal process.
- Ability to learn and use new technology.
- Reliable and predictable attendance.

- Location: Centennial, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $15.16 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, paid internship.
