About the role#
We are looking for Accounting Interns for the Summer 2027 term. You will work onsite at our Richmond office under the supervision of senior staff and managers. This position offers the potential for a full-time role upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns and related workpapers.
- Assist with onsite financial statement audits at client offices and employee benefit plan audits.
- Complete audit test work for cash, receivables, and fixed assets.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries.
- Perform research on specific audit and tax issues.
- Calculate depreciation and amortization and prepare property and equipment schedules.
- Gain hands-on experience with paperless audit, accounting, and tax software.
- Perform data input and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Master’s student in an Accounting program.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- A clear interest in a career in public accounting and sitting for the CPA exam.
- Ability to work at least 32 hours per week for a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks.
- Reliable transportation for your daily commute, client visits, and firm events.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
