About the role#
The Tax Intern for International Tax Services will work with experienced team members to assist clients with cross-border tax matters. You will use your educational background to perform research, analyze international tax issues, and support the preparation of tax advice. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based on-site in Costa Mesa, California.
What you'll do#
- Perform tax research and analysis on international tax issues.
- Assist in preparing Written Tax Advice and developing work plans for clients.
- Coordinate with non-US colleagues to understand how foreign tax laws impact client transactions.
- Use firm software to assist with tax reporting obligations and compliance forms.
- Monitor changes in tax law and client factual developments.
- Develop an understanding of ASC 740-10 as it relates to international tax.
- Seek guidance from superiors regarding compliance issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, Taxation, or a Master of Laws degree program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
- Experience with research databases like RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, or Westlaw is preferred.
- Leadership experience, a J.D., or progress toward a CPA license are preferred.
