About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work with experienced professionals to support our client base. This role provides hands-on experience in tax preparation and firm practices while you build professional relationships to support your future career.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Work with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review.
- Assist in the projection of year-end filings.
- Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
- Monitor tax law and client factual developments on a regular basis.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Assist with components of income tax provisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Preference for candidates pursuing a masters degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions.
