About the role#
As a Tax Intern for the Partnerships team, you will build your knowledge in partnership taxation. You will assist with partnership specific items, including 704(b) and taxable income allocations, tax capital account maintenance, liability analysis, and tax receivable agreement calculations. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide coaching and direction. This role supports BDO clients both directly and through collaboration with other client service teams.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Assist in developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits by decreasing current and future taxes.
- Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
- Monitor tax law and client developments on a regular basis.
- Assist in the projection of year-end filings.
- Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework.
- Collect data to comply with filing requirements and track impending due dates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting or Finance.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to sit for the CPA exam.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team, follow instructions, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Developing analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
