About the role#
As a Tax Intern specializing in Partnerships, you will build your knowledge of partnership taxation. You will assist with tasks such as 704(b) and taxable income allocations, tax capital account maintenance, liability analysis, and tax receivable agreement calculations. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide coaching and direction. This role supports BDO clients directly and assists other client service teams.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Assist in developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits by decreasing current and future taxes.
- Operate online research tools to gather tax information.
- Monitor tax law and client developments on a regular basis.
- Take initiative on impending due dates.
- Assist with the projection of year-end filings and organize files to minimize rework.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or Finance.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to sit for the CPA exam.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
