About the role#
This SkillBridge internship is for transitioning military service members during their final 180 days of active duty. You will work up to 40 hours per week in our FAA certified repair station, training alongside experienced technicians to develop skills in structural inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair. This program provides hands-on experience with aircraft such as Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, King Air, Cessna, Piper, and Pilatus. Please note that this internship does not guarantee a full-time job offer. Participants continue to receive their military compensation and benefits throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft.
- Execute structural repairs and modifications.
- Manage customer property with care through all phases of work.
- Complete paperwork and work order details accurately in Corridor.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow safety procedures and use support equipment correctly.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of two years of experience in general or military aviation.
- Minimum of two years of experience performing structural repairs and modifications.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
- Airframe certification is preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to obtain an airport-issued security badge.
- Command approval for participation, with documentation provided at least 10 business days before your start date.
Location & details#
- Location: Boise, Idaho.
- Modality: On-site in an aircraft hangar environment.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to climb, bend, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and 25 pounds overhead.
