    About the role#

    This SkillBridge internship is for transitioning military service members only. It provides an opportunity to gain civilian work experience during your final 180 days of active-duty service. You will work up to 40 hours per week in our FAA certified Repair Station, training under experienced technicians. You will develop skills in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs for aircraft including Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, King Air, Cessna, Piper, and Pilatus. Please note that this program does not guarantee a permanent job offer.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn and assist with routine avionics installations and repairs on general aviation aircraft.
    • Ensure proper care of customer property throughout all phases of work.
    • Accurately complete required paperwork and work order details in the Corridor system.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Meet or beat flat rates for assigned tasks.
    • Follow safety procedures and use support equipment correctly.

    What you'll need#

    • Two years of experience in general or military aviation avionics or general electronics is preferred.
    • Advanced troubleshooting abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • A positive attitude and professional demeanor.
    • FCC certification is preferred.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
    • Ability to obtain an airport-issued security badge.
    • Command approval for participation, with documentation provided 10 business days before your start date.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Boise, Idaho.
    • Modality: On-site in an aircraft hangar environment.
    • Physical requirements: Ability to climb, bend, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and lift 25 pounds overhead.
    • Term: Rolling.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship for service members who continue to receive military compensation and benefits.
