About the role#
We are looking for an Electrical Substation Intern to join our team in Denver. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in substation design while working as part of a collaborative design team. You may be assigned to multiple projects, providing exposure to various stages of engineering work.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of substation design.
- Design physical layouts, lightning protection, and conduit or cable plans.
- Perform grounding analysis and design tasks.
- Generate single and three-line schematic diagrams, DC schematics, and panel wiring.
- Create control building and relay panel layouts along with lighting designs.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics teams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET accredited BSEE program as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Coursework or equivalent experience in power system analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preference is given to candidates local to the Colorado area.

- The role is a paid internship.
