About the role#
Ulteig is seeking Electrical Engineering interns for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our Substation Department to gain hands-on experience in high-voltage design. This role focuses on supporting engineering teams, learning from experienced mentors, and contributing to utility and renewable energy projects in a consulting environment.
What you'll do#
- Support high-voltage substation design, including physical design (69kV-500kV) and protection and control systems.
- Assist in preparing engineering drawings, calculations, and project documentation.
- Participate in internal design reviews, team meetings, and training sessions.
- Receive instruction and mentorship to complete tasks according to project schedules.
- Contribute to designs that support utility and renewable energy clients.
- Potentially perform site visits to assist with field data collection.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework by Summer 2027.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to learning and professional growth.
- Availability to work full-time during Summer 2027.
- Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. (sponsorship is not available).
- Prior experience or coursework in electrical power systems is preferred.
