    About the role#

    Clark Dietz is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This position offers practical experience in the civil engineering industry by working directly on building systems projects. You will be part of an Intern Mentor Pod and have the chance to engage in group activities focused on career development and technical learning.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist staff with the design of mechanical and electrical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and power distribution.
    • Perform calculations to compute quantities and verify measurements.
    • Research project specifications and codes.
    • Organize and analyze technical data.
    • Participate in group activities to explore the engineering profession.

    What you'll need#

    • A declared major in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering.
    • An interest in building systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Good communication skills and a willingness to ask questions.
    • A valid driver's license and a vehicle for travel to project sites.
    • Experience with software like AutoCad MEP, Revit, SKM Powertools, or Trane Trace is preferred.

    • Compensation: $20 to $26 per hour.
