About the role#
Clark Dietz is hiring a Civil/Construction Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will join our team in New Albany, Indiana, to work on municipal infrastructure and roadway projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will gain practical experience through field work and participate in group activities to learn about technical areas and career paths within the engineering profession.
What you'll do#
- Work as part of a team on municipal infrastructure and roadway projects.
- Assist with site surveying tasks.
- Perform inspection of construction activities.
- Document construction activities in the field.
What you'll need#
- You must be a student with a declared major in Civil Engineering.
- An interest in Construction, Transportation, or Structural engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
- Ability to research specifications and codes.
- Ability to perform basic calculations to compute quantities, verify measurements, and organize and analyze data.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for commuting to project sites.
- Previous experience using CAD software is desired.

- Location: New Albany, Indiana.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $20 to $26 per hour, based on experience and academic year.
