About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within our Construction Operations and Field Operations teams in Los Angeles. You will work alongside established project teams to gain an introduction to the industry. This program offers advance consideration for the Shawmut Construction Management Skills Training program following graduation.
What you'll do#
Depending on business needs, you will support one of three areas:
- Project Management: Manage submittals and RFIs, track procurement and change order documentation, and assist in project close out.
- Estimating: Develop estimates and budgets, work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage, assist in scope writing, and attend bid reviews.
- Field: Work with a seasoned Superintendent on job sites, manage daily reports, monitor and enforce site safety protocols, and coordinate punch list activities.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising Junior or Senior student.
- You are working towards a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.
