About the role#
As a Factory Construction Intern, you will gain hands-on experience bringing a factory to life. You will work alongside engineers, operators, and builders to design and set up the processes that make our products. This role involves contributing to facility layouts and tracking construction progress. You will learn by doing while your work shapes how we deliver energy at scale.
What you'll do#
- Support coordination between the civil engineering and manufacturing teams to align facility design with production requirements.
- Review interior build-out plans, MEP layouts, warehouse racking, and equipment move-in logistics.
- Participate in design and construction meetings to capture action items and track progress on civil-related deliverables.
- Contribute to quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and documentation for civil works.
- Conduct field visits to observe construction activities, verify work against plans, and report findings to the project team.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage details across multiple stakeholders.
- An interest in facility design, construction methods, and how they intersect with manufacturing operations.
- Ability to read or interpret construction drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Eagerness to participate in fieldwork, site walks, and hands-on problem solving.
- An analytical mindset for tracking costs, quantities, and progress against plans.
- Clear communication skills for documenting action items and sharing findings with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to dive into new technical areas.
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering program.
