About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Civil Engineer Intern, you will join our team to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This full-time internship provides hands-on experience in engineering design and project execution. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to solve infrastructure challenges while building your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply departmental design guides, systems, and engineering codes.
- Coordinate with project teams to support the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Perform research and provide recommendations for the selection of materials and equipment.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
- Assist in the development of project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
- Apply engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods to project tasks.
- Balance the needs of internal project leadership while learning about external client interests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university Civil Engineering program.
- Academic emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical engineering.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, industry trends, and construction practices.
- Preferred: Coursework in water/wastewater, hydraulics, and fluid mechanics.
- Preferred: A 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding, including a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
