About the role#
Sunflower Electric Power Corporation is hiring a Structural Design Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Great Bend, Kansas. You will work alongside our team to support the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical transmission and distribution facilities that provide energy to central and western Kansas.
What you'll do#
- Perform line routing and structural design tasks.
- Conduct field surveying and evaluate conductors.
- Develop construction drawings and engineering calculations.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of utility infrastructure.
- Split your time between field work and office tasks.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of engineering education at an ABET accredited institution.
- Enrollment in a Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering program.
