About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Civil Engineer Intern, you will work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will support multidisciplinary teams, gain hands-on experience with engineering tools, and contribute to project delivery. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Apply departmental design guides, standards, and engineering codes to project work.
- Coordinate with project teams to support the design and construction of infrastructure.
- Perform research and provide recommendations for equipment and material selection.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
- Assist with project schedules, cost estimates, and deliverables.
- Develop your skills in engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.
- Learn about client interests and project drivers while supporting internal team needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Academic emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical engineering.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, construction practices, and industry trends.
- Coursework in water/wastewater, hydraulics, or fluid mechanics is preferred.
- A 3.0 GPA is preferred.

- This is an on-site role.
- Locations: Tualatin, Oregon; Walnut Creek, California; or Rancho Cordova, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
