About the role#
This internship provides an introduction to construction operations and field operations at Shawmut. You will work on-site with established project teams in Las Vegas. The program is designed for students seeking hands-on experience and offers advance consideration for the Construction Management Skills Training program after graduation.
What you'll do#
Depending on business needs, you will support project management, estimating, or field work.
- Assist with daily project management tasks, including managing submittals and RFIs.
- Track procurement and change order documentation.
- Help with project close out.
- Collaborate with the estimating and preconstruction team to develop budgets.
- Work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage.
- Assist in scope writing and attend bid reviews with internal partners.
- Work with a superintendent on job sites to manage daily reports.
- Monitor and enforce site safety protocols.
- Coordinate punch list activities.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising Junior or Senior.
- You should be working toward a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States, as we cannot offer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Pay: $22 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and project capability.
