About the role#
This internship program is designed for college students seeking experience in construction operations and field operations. You will work directly with established project teams in Boston during the summer of 2027. This role provides advance consideration for the Shawmut CMST program upon graduation. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
Your specific responsibilities will depend on whether you are assigned to Project Management, Estimating, or Field work.
- Manage submittals and RFIs.
- Track procurement and change order documentation.
- Assist in project close out.
- Develop estimates and budgets with the Estimating and Preconstruction team.
- Work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage.
- Assist in scope writing across various trades.
- Attend bid reviews.
- Work with a Superintendent on local job sites.
- Manage daily reports.
- Assist in monitoring and enforcing site safety protocols.
- Coordinate punch list activities.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising Junior or Senior in college.
- You should be working toward a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States. We do not offer sponsorship.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.

- Pay: $22 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and project requirements.
