About the role#
Stanley Consultants is hiring an Electrical Student Intern for our Muscatine, Iowa office. This is a paid, full-time position for students currently pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting our energy and infrastructure projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of electrical power, lighting, control, and communications systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Perform and verify engineering calculations.
- Coordinate project information with vendors.
- Conduct field site visits and perform back checks on drawings.
- Assist with design tasks including electrical system modeling, lighting and power calculations, and equipment wiring schematics.
- Create panelboard and equipment schedules.
- Complete general clerk duties as required.
- Manage assigned tasks independently while seeking guidance from senior staff when needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BSEE degree program at an ABET accredited university.
- Current standing as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
- Local residence in the Iowa area.
