About the role#
Westlake is offering a full-time Electrical Engineer internship for Summer 2027. This role provides hands-on experience within our chemical manufacturing plants. You will work under the supervision of a mentor to gain practical insight into our operations and contribute to assigned projects.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned projects under the guidance of a mentor or supervisor.
- Observe daily activities within your assigned department or unit.
- Assist with day-to-day tasks to support the team.
- Participate in safety and environmental programs.
- Keep an activity journal throughout the internship.
- Deliver a final presentation to the management team.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of college.
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time position.
- Available locations include Lake Charles, Geismar, and Plaquemine, Louisiana; Deer Park and Longview, Texas; Calvert City, Kentucky; and New Martinsville, West Virginia.
- Work may require time in office settings or operating units, which may involve exposure to outside elements and the use of personal protective equipment.
