About the role#
The Esports Stream Coordinator supports the technical infrastructure and visual quality of live digital broadcasts at the Academy of Art University. This is a Federal Work Study role based in the production studio. You will assist with hardware and software testing to ensure broadcasts meet professional standards. This position is open to students in Computer Science, Media Studies, Art, and Communications.
What you'll do#
- Perform pre-flight technical audits on studio hardware, capture cards, audio equipment, and network configurations.
- Configure and optimize OBS profiles, bitrates, and scene layouts.
- Implement broadcast overlays, graphic assets, and video stings.
- Serve as the technical director during live tournament streams, managing feed stability and scene switching.
- Manage Twitch channel permissions and handle VOD archiving.
What you'll need#
- Technical knowledge of OBS Studio or Streamlabs, including plugin management and encoding settings.
- Familiarity with streaming hardware pipelines such as dual-PC setups, capture cards, and digital audio interfaces.
- Ability to troubleshoot software crashes, audio desyncs, and dropped frames in real time.
- Availability to work up to 20 hours per week, including some weekends.

- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, scheduled around your classes.
- Employment Term: Rolling, from your starting term through graduation.
- Compensation: $19.61 per hour, including paid sick leave.
