About the role#
ACCESS, Inc. is seeking an undergraduate student for an HR Administration Internship. This role offers hands-on experience in human resources within a nonprofit setting. You will support daily HR functions and gain exposure to the full employee lifecycle. This position is unpaid, though it may qualify for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist with recruitment tasks like posting positions, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
- Help manage onboarding and offboarding processes for staff.
- Draft internal communications, HR documents, and policy summaries.
- Support benefits and payroll administration under supervision.
- Plan employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Handle general administrative duties including filing, data entry, and scheduling.
- Prepare materials for staff meetings and training sessions.
- Support special projects across different departments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Public Administration.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness is a plus.
Location & details#
- Work modality: On-site.
- Time commitment: 15 to 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling to accommodate classes.
- Physical requirements: Ability to remain in a stationary position, move items up to 25 lbs, and perform occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
