About the role#
This is a full-time, 4-month co-op position within the Fixed Income group at AIMCo. You will gain exposure to portfolio management, quantitative research, and investment analysis. The team manages various short, mid, and long-term portfolios, focusing on adding value through interest rate forecasting, sector weighting, and security selection. This term begins in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop quantitative statistical models, perform back-testing, and handle curve building.
- Evaluate factor investing models for application to bond or credit portfolio management.
- Improve existing management reports and create new ones to support investment decisions.
- Use AI-enabled tools to enhance research, portfolio monitoring, and reporting.
- Maintain and update Fixed Income databases and internal sites.
- Assist with the quarterly client reporting process and document data and process flows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or Economics.
- Must be registered in a formal work experience or co-op program through your post-secondary institution.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- A solid understanding of financial markets, with a focus on the fixed income market.
- Strong research, critical thinking, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
