About the role#
The Student, Private Equity role offers an opportunity to analyze investments alongside a team of professionals. You will contribute to the financial security of Albertans while gaining experience in the evaluation of funds and assets. This is a 4-month, full-time position running from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities, including direct investments, secondaries, and funds.
- Conduct research and analysis on a broad range of industries, sectors, and funds.
- Maintain and update portfolio company and fund investment materials while tracking performance.
- Engage with global Private Equity fund managers and summarize key takeaways for internal databases.
- Support the team with ongoing daily investment activities.
What you'll need#
- Completion of second- or third-year undergraduate studies in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong research, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- A demonstrated interest in investing and analyzing businesses across various industries.
- Excellent knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic concepts.
- Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
