About the role#
Lefferts Animal Hospital in Richmond Hill, Queens, offers an externship for veterinary students. This is a paid, on-site opportunity designed to provide real-world experience in a full-service practice. You will work alongside a team of 10 doctors in a setting that combines suburban and city living.
What you'll do#
- Provide medical, surgical, and dental care for patients.
- Promote responsible pet ownership and preventative health care.
- Participate in surgery, emergency and urgent care, and high-speed dentistry.
- Gain experience with in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasonography, and cold laser therapy.
- Receive one-on-one mentorship and guidance from our DVM network.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 1st through 4th year veterinary student at an AVMA accredited institution.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- A desire to enhance your clinical education through hands-on practice.

- Location: Queens, New York.
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Flexible and rolling terms.
