    About the role#

    This 13-week graduate internship offers hands-on experience within Amgen’s Engineering organization. You will work alongside teams focused on global capital project management, engineering technical authority, project controls, engineering operations, or environment, health, and safety. This program is designed for graduate students to apply advanced technical, analytical, and research capabilities to real-world engineering challenges while preparing business case proposals for executive leadership.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead or drive a defined project workstream from initial framing through implementation planning.
    • Partner with project design teams and subject-matter experts to support equipment selection, technical documentation, and project development.
    • Analyze technical feasibility, lifecycle impacts, costs, schedules, risks, and benefits to inform capital project decisions.
    • Assess engineering, construction, and operational processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and risk reduction.
    • Develop, evaluate, or improve digital, automation, data, or AI-enabled tools and dashboards to enhance engineering workflows.
    • Apply structured problem-solving and data-analysis methods to translate complex information into actionable recommendations.
    • Support EHS initiatives to strengthen compliance, environmental stewardship, and operational risk management.
    • Prepare and present project updates and findings to engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • Must be 18 years or older and hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
    • Currently enrolled in an MBA, Master’s, PharmD, or PhD program, having completed the first year of the program.
    • Ability to work a full-time schedule and maintain enrollment following the internship.
    • Must be located in the United States for the duration of the program.
    • Ability to commit to future full-time employment by July 2028.
    • Degree concentration in engineering, project delivery, construction, digital/data/AI, or environment, health, and safety.
    • Experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, data visualization, statistical analysis, process modeling, BIM/Revit, automation platforms, or generative AI tools.
    • Demonstrated initiative, project-management ability, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
