    About the role#

    This summer internship offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in machine learning and data engineering within the biotechnology sector. You will work alongside data scientists and engineers to support the development of scalable data solutions and analytical models. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, develop, and test scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform data into enterprise systems.
    • Clean, prepare, and analyze both structured and unstructured data.
    • Support the automation of model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
    • Explore and analyze pharmaceutical commercial datasets to generate insights.
    • Create informative visualizations and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
    • Apply statistical techniques such as regression, classification, and hypothesis testing.
    • Collaborate on monitoring machine learning models in production environments.
    • Document technical processes, models, and tools.
    • Experiment with new data engineering and MLOps techniques.
    • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program with at least a 3.0 GPA.
    • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Degree concentration in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Foundational experience in Python or R, including libraries like pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn, scikit-learn, and XGBoost.
    • Basic understanding of SQL and experience querying relational or big data sources.
    • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
    • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
    • Awareness of tools including Databricks, Apache Spark, or Apache Airflow.
    • Coursework in areas such as software development, database modeling, agile processes, or business systems analysis.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Previous experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or health care industry is a plus.

    • Compensation: Paid position ($28.87 per hour).
