Data Science Co-Op

About the role#

This Data Science Co-Op position is part of Pioneering Intelligence, a Flagship Pioneering initiative that develops AI and machine learning platforms for life sciences. You will join an interdisciplinary team of machine learning and domain experts to address complex problems in computational science. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

What you'll do#

• Build models, organize data, and deliver computational solutions alongside a team of scientists.
• Experiment with diverse datasets and new techniques.
• Communicate your findings to a multi-disciplinary audience.
• Focus on areas such as generative models for biomolecular design, self-learning agentic systems, and biophysical simulation.

What you'll need#

• Fluency in Python.
• Experience implementing machine learning methods with standard tools like PyTorch or JAX.
• A willingness to deep dive into the biology, physics, or chemistry of the platform companies.
• Experience or publications in computer science, machine learning, computational chemistry, or computational biology.
• Familiarity with generative models, natural language processing, graphical neural networks, or reinforcement learning.
• Experience with software development tools including git and public cloud computing resources like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour.
• Term: Rolling.
