About the role#
We are looking for a Genomics Co-op to join our team and contribute to the development of our Integromyx and Perturb-seq platforms. You will perform bench work as part of a cross-functional team, designing molecular cloning workflows and maintaining mammalian cell cultures. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience with CRISPR-Cas9 cell line engineering and transcriptional profiling.
What you'll do#
- Design, generate, and validate plasmids using Golden Gate cloning and other synthetic biology methods.
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures, including performing transductions, transfections, and routine husbandry.
- Produce lentiviral vectors to support cell line engineering workflows.
- Apply qPCR and qRT-PCR techniques to support research objectives.
- Contribute to CRISPR-Cas9-based mammalian cell line engineering experiments.
- Present findings in team meetings and maintain electronic lab notebook records.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Biochemistry.
- Coursework or hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology, nucleic acid manipulation, or synthetic biology.
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture.
- Interest in NGS sample preparation, informatics tools like R or Python, and lab automation instrumentation.
