    About the role#

    This internship within the Materials Technology Development group focuses on Assembly Technology Development. You will contribute to fundamental research and experimentation to advance next-generation assembly packaging platform technologies.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct research to characterize materials and identify potential failure modes.
    • Analyze structure-property-performance relationships to assess material feasibility.
    • Provide strategic recommendations regarding material technology.
    • Work with suppliers to develop and source material formulations.
    • Build an understanding of assembly processes and how materials interact within them.
    • Partner with Equipment and Process Engineering teams to implement and evaluate new technologies.
    • Design assembly processes and equipment using innovative concepts.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a full-time PhD student in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related field.
    • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in fundamental research and experimentation.
    • Technical problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and present findings clearly.
    • Capacity to learn quickly and work well across multiple teams.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
    • The role is based on-site in Phoenix, Arizona.
    • This position does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.
