About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Iowa. You will work within the Strategic Analytics department to build data science solutions under close supervision. This role provides an opportunity to develop an understanding of insurance operations, ratemaking, statistical analysis, data management, and computer programming.
What you'll do#
- Gather structured and unstructured data to build modeling datasets.
- Clean and pre-process data for analysis.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships.
- Share your findings with your supervisor for review.
- Research and provide recommendations on at least one emerging technology or innovation.
- Learn about the company culture, structure, and functions across various branches.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Finance program. Completion of your junior year is preferred.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- A genuine interest in a career within property casualty insurance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and solid computer skills.
