    About the role#

    This 13-week internship provides hands-on experience in engineering operations within a biotechnology environment. You will work alongside Amgen engineers to support areas such as technical authority, global capital project management, project controls, and environment, health, and safety. This role is available as a remote position or on-site at specific Amgen locations.

    What you'll do#

    • Partner with project design teams and subject-matter experts to support engineering project development.
    • Conduct engineering assessments, technical feasibility evaluations, lifecycle impact assessments, cost analyses, and project business cases.
    • Research project scopes, construction processes, and emerging technologies to find improvement opportunities.
    • Support the development and implementation of strategic engineering projects.
    • Develop, test, or improve digital, automation, data, or AI-enabled tools to increase operational efficiency.
    • Contribute to safety, health, and environmental initiatives to reduce risk and support workforce well-being.
    • Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
    • Completion of at least one year of study prior to the start of the internship.
    • Continued enrollment in a degree program following the internship.
    • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
    • Majors: Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment.
    • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative.
    • Ability to translate technical information into clear recommendations.

    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Work Modality: Remote or on-site.
    • On-site locations: New Albany, Ohio; Holly Springs, North Carolina; South San Francisco, California; Thousand Oaks, California.
    • Employment: Full-time paid internship.
