About the role#
This position is for a Student Worker at the Crossroads Cafe on the UMass Lowell campus. You will assist with food preparation and catering tasks while building your customer service and social skills. This is an on-site role with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Follow standardized recipes and directions to prepare and build food items.
- Store food properly to meet safety standards.
- Set up, clean, and sanitize workstations like prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers and anticipate their needs to ensure satisfaction.
- Replenish food items to keep stock at appropriate levels.
- Follow safety policies, including sanitation procedures, and secure company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Must hold or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
